It is our hope to introduce Japanese animation to a whole new audience who may not be familiar with anime or may not be aware of the wide range of stories that have been told through this medium. First Night has provided us with one of the largest meeting rooms at the Hynes Convention Center (seating approx. 300) to present anime from 1pm through 11pm on December 31st. Due to the limited programming time available (compared to a convention such as Anime Boston where there is over 200 hours of video programming time to fill), we have made the decision to show just one episode of each title in order to present the widest variety of programming possible within the time available. We also want to keep the programming kid-friendly. Keeping that in mind, most of our programming will be presented dubbed in English rather than in Japanese with English subtitles. We realize this decision may not appeal to some of the most vocal anime fans, but please understand that it is our intent to introduce a whole new audience to anime at First Night Boston. You can still expect to see both subtitled and dubbed anime at Anime Boston.
